You Can Always Trust What God Has Said!

Numbers 23:19 teaches us important truths to consider in our world of broken promises, lies, and constantly changing opinions. God says in this verse that we can trust what He has said in His Word to be the truth.  Why? Because He is God.

Because the Lord is God we can know the following from this verse:

  • Everything that God has addressed in His Word is true--"that He should lie."
  • Everything that God has spoken about He will not change His mind--"that He should repent."
  • Everything that God has said, He will accomplish it--"shall He not do it."
  • Everything that God has promised will be fulfilled--"shall He not make it good."
This verse is important in helping you and me understand how we should view the Word of God. God is saying you can trust His Word because of His character.  We don't have to worry that God somehow will change the game in the midst of things--God has said it and that settles it.

"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
