Are You Ready For Eternity?
The Bible says that you can be ready for eternity by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. While you have this moment, settle the matter right now where you will spend eternity. Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."
The Bible makes it clear that those who die in their sin will receive the judgement of God. Why? Because you and I have broken God's law (10 Commandments-- Exodus 20: 1-17) and are therefore guilty before Him. Have you ever lied? Have you ever stole? Have you ever lusted in your heart? Have you ever been disrespectful to your parents? These are just a small sample of the many sins you and I have committed against the Lord. In fact the Bible says that you and I were born in sin and that by sinning once we are guilty of sin:
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 5:12
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. James 2:8-11
The Good News is that although you and I are guilty, God sent His only Son into this world to rescue us from the penalty of sin (John 3:14-18). He did that by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to the cross to take our punishment that we deserved (1 Corinthians 15:3; 1 John 2:1-2). Jesus, after shedding His blood to pay for our sins (1 John 1:7), rose again the 3rd day (1 Corinthians 15:4) and gives eternal life to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The person who calls upon the Lord Jesus for salvation from sin, will be saved (Joel 2:32; Acts 16:30-31). Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Why wait? If you are not ready for eternity, get ready now! Don't die in your sins! Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!
How do you get saved? Admit you are a sinner, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, then receive Him as your Savior, and you will have eternal life:
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:8-13
Consider these verses from God's Word the Bible:
John 3:14-19
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
1 John 5:11-13
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ezekiel 18:30-32
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
The Bible makes it clear--if you turn from your sin and believe in the Lord, you will live forever with Him!
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
Amos 5:4
For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel,
Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
